The Somerville Municipal Employees Association (a union of 200 municipal members that represents workers at the DPW, City Hall, School Nurses, Librarians, Parking Dept. just to name a few) is in it second year without a contract and third year without a pay raise and the City has been losing very good workers to other companies and municipalities that are realistic about inflation.
This is a labor event and standout to show residents that we keep the city running.
It is also a coat drive -- asking residents to donate much needed winter clothing to the Somerville Homeless Coalition.
