Little Amal

Extinction Rebellion Boston Welcomes Little Amal to East Boston

· Past Gigs

On Friday September 8th, Extinction Rebellion will be welcoming Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10 year old Syrian refugee, to East Boston to highlight environmental justice, community empowerment and the impacts of the climate crisis on humans and animals. Good Trouble Brass Band will start playing at 6:00pm at Albert Betulli Park in East Boston. Little Amal will arrive at 6:30pm; she will look around and "meet" the community. The parade will take place from 6:45pm to 7:30pm.

Little Amal will meet a lost sea marsh sparrow puppet, rescue a trapped right whale puppet, and meet other animals – each animal puppet will be accompanied by a soloist from the band – as we march to the Condor St Urban Wilds, about 30 minutes away. There we will find a new space of refuge and community by the sea. At that point we will have a closing ceremony with lanterns and light-up fish and be done by 7:30.
